The Blessed Virgin Mary, the most beautiful of God's creatures, is indeed "the Incarnate Rose," especially chosen for God's garden. She is the "rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys" (cf Song of Songs 2:1). This is a detail of the north rose window in the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, which has the Virgin and Child surrounded by prophets and patriarchs.
